Facilities such as Adult Family Care offer a true home-like atmosphere with no more than five (5) adults who require assistance with their activities of daily living residing within the facility. The person operating the facility must also reside within the premises.
There is a required 12-hour training that needs to be completed, without a required state exam, before the AHCA will issue a license to operate.
The operator of the Adult Family Care cannot live off the premises.
